Everything is Somewhere has undertaken detailed analysis for a planning authority of where various employees live relative to their place of work. The scenario in this case is the proposed long term and significant development envisaged in the emerging Local Plan and the availability of the required workforce. The work undertaken to date has included mapping where 7,000 people live who are employed by various companies in the target area and at the same time map the public service routes.
Many of the new jobs to be created (about 10,000) will be lower pay jobs and a significant number of these staff are predicted to use public transport. The work undertaken has clearly demonstrated where the bulk of the current employees live but it has identified other conurbations that currently have poor transport links and where there are potential employees.
