Everything is Somewhere were commissioned to undertaker various GIS projects with the primary focus on “mapping” the estates extensive land ownership and thereafter all occupiers and tenants. Working with the Estate’s lawyers and the Land Registry all titles were investigated and mapped based on Ordnance Survey Mastermap and using ArcGIS software. On completion of this work the Estate’s tenants (agricultural and residential) were also mapped. Work continues on adding further records and information to the system.
The Estate now have access to the GIS system providing accurate records of land in their control which will save them time and effort in managing the extensive landholding.
In addition to the main estate additional mapping services have been provided with regard to various projects including providing maps to assist with historic Capability Brown designs for the Castle and surrounding land and also mapping the gardens and walks.
