The planning process remains challenging. The clear upside for clients is the grant of a consent which creates value and often allows a business to move forward. Securing a consent does take time (and some patience) but remembering that there is a defined process that has to be followed. What is often the cause of delay is dealing with statutory consultees, in some cases they take months to respond.

Whilst three planning permsssions were received over 2 days the period for their determination ranged from 6 weeks to 12 months and there was little that could be done to speed up the process. The difficulty with statutory consultees is often not being able to speak to the individual dealing with your application. It is also now quite usual for planning permissions to be issued without any dialogue at all on the proposed planning conditions. Luckily in these three cases the planning conditions are acceptable.  

Two of the applications were for various buildings for Nottingham Rugby Club which concludes for the time being a series of applications to allow the Club to continue at its site at Lady Bay, West Bridgford.
