The "UAV Pilot Agricultural Awareness" course is the only one of its type in the UK. Attended by other UAV operators, farm managers and people with a general interest enjoyed a comprehensive day on various aspects of UAV use in agriculture which is destined to grow. Uses do vary but there is an emphasis on crop health and some interesting examples were shown demonstrating how a UAV can be utilised. We were also provided with an overview of emerging technology and the use of large UAV's (TOW 25kg) which could be used for the actual application of pesticides and fertilizers. The course is part of gaining BASIS accreditation for the use of UAV's for agricultural purposes.
